The Hollywood Reporter and other media outlets are reporting that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will be reprising the roles of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk for the upcoming Marvel Studios series Echo at Disney+.
.
Maya Lopez, aka Echo, has the ability to perfectly copy another person’s movements or fighting style, making her a formidable opponent in battle. In Marvel Comics, Echo was the first person to hold the title of Ronin before passing it onto Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye. The character made her MCU debut in the Hawkeye series last year.
.
In the series we follow Maya Lopez, as her life in New York as a gang leader catches up with her and she returns to her hometown to reconnect with her Native American roots.
.
Sources for THR tell them that the upcoming series will feature a plotline in which Matt Murdock, the blind attorney who is also known by his alter ego Daredevil, is searching out a former alley. The Weekly Planet podcast has been reporting that the ally in question is Jessica Jones, another Marvel character who had her own series on Netflix, portrayed by Krysten Ritter. Vincent D’Onofrio’s return as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin was felt to be a given, considering the history already between his character and Echo in the Hawkeye series.
.
The series, currently shooting in Atlanta, is being written and executive produced by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, and stars Alaqua Cox, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning and Graham Greene.
