Apple have announced that Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig, Patrick Walker, Thomas Mann, Kevin Sussman and Beau Bridges will be starring alongside Brie Larson in the drama series Lessons In Chemistry.
Set in the early 1950’s, the series follows Elizabeth Zott, whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a society deeming that women belong in the domestic sphere, not the professional one. When Elizabeth finds herself pregnant, alone and fired from her lab, she musters the ingenuity only a single mother has. She accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives – and the men who are suddenly listening – a lot more than recipes… all the wile craving a return to her true love: science.
Lewis Pullman (whose credits include Top Gun: Maverick and Outer Range) will be playing the role of Calvin. Aja Naomi King (whose credits include How To Get Away With Murder and A Girl From Mogadishu) will be playing the role of Harriet Slone. Stephanie Koenig (whose credits include The Flight Attendant and The Offer) will be playing the role of Fran Frask. Patrick Walker (whose credits include Gaslit and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) will be playing the role of Wakely. Thomas Mann (whose credits include Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty and Me Earl and the Dying Girl) will be playing the role of Boryweitz. Kevin Sussman (whose credits include The Big Bang Theory and The Dropout) will be playing the role of Walter. Beau Bridges (whose credits include Goliath and Homeland) will be playing the role of Wilson.
The series is based on the bestselling debut novel from author, science editor and copywriter Bonnie Garmus. Being produced by Aggregate Films, Lee Eisenberg serves as showrunner for the series, which is being executive produced by Brie Larson (The Great Unknown Productions), Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan (Aggregate Films), Natalie Sandy (Piece of Work), Susannah Grant and Louise Shore. Elijah Allan-Blitz and Bonnie Garmus serve as co-executive producers.
Lessons In Chemistry is set to debut on Apple TV+ in 2023.
