HBO have released the latest teaser trailer for the upcoming drama series The Idol.

The official synopsis for the series is as follows:

Set against the backdrop of the music industry, a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult enters a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol.

The series is co-created by Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Makkonen Tesfaye, Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson, with Levinson directing the episodes, and Tesfaye starring alongside Lily-Rose Depp, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey and Hank Azaria.
