At the Marvel presentation at D23 Expo, Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige announced that Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will be starring in the upcoming team-up film Thunderbolts.

Based on a team that were first assembled and presented in Marvel Comics in 1997, the film revolves around a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government. The exact plot outline for the film is still however being kept under wraps.

Sebastian Stan returns as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh returns as Yelena, David Harbour returns as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell returns as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen returns as Ava Starr/Ghost and Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

First revealed at San Diego Comic Con, the film is set to close out Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Jake Schreier attached to direct.

Thunderbolts is scheduled for cinematic release on the 26th July 2024.
