The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Charlie Barnett is in talks with Lucasfilm to join the cast for the upcoming Star Wars/Disney+ series The Acolyte.

The Acolyte is described as a mystery-thriller, which will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. In the Star Wars universe, an acolyte can refer to individuals with force abilities who learn from a more experienced Sith Lord.

While the report states that it’s unknown what character Barnett will be playing, sources indicate that it will be a supporting role. His credits include Russian Doll and Chicago Fire.

The series, which was announced back in December 2020, hails from Leslye Headland, who serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner. It’s believed that The Acolyte will commence production later in the year.
