Deadline is exclusively reporting that Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle, Natalie Mitson, Nicole Rieko Setsuko and Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart will be starring in shark survival thriller Something In The Water, which has begun filming in the Dominican Republic.
The film will follow a dream wedding which turns into a nightmare when five girlfriends must fight for their lives in open water.
Hayley Easton Street, who is directing the film, released a statement saying:
This is an elevated survival film, unlike anything else I’ve worked on, with incredible strong female leads at the heart of the story. Something In The Water will be an emotional and visual experience, putting the audience at the centre of the action and using seamless VFX to bring the terror to life. I couldn’t be more excited to helm this movie.
This film marks Hayley Easton Street’s directorial feature debut, who worked as art director on films such as Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and Edge of Tomorrow, to name a few. The screenplay is written by Cat Clarke.
Studiocanal is handling sales for the film and is currently in talks with buyers at the American Film Market (AFM).
