Deadline is exclusively reporting that Aaron Dean Eisenberg is the latest name to join the cast for the upcoming wrestling drama film The Iron Claw, playing the role of wrestling icon Ric Flair.

Based on the true story of the Von Erich’s, the film will follow the rise and fall of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960’s to the present day.

The report states that they believe that Aaron Dean Eisenberg’s appearance as Ric Flair will likely be more of a cameo, though Flair was a pivotal figure in the Von Erichs’ wrestling legacy when he fought Kerry Von Erich for the NWA Championship in 1984. Aaron Dean Eisenberg’s credits include The Deuce and the upcoming Amazon series Dead Ringers.

The film is being written and directed by Sean Durkin, with the film co-financed by A24 and Access Industries. Tessa Ross, Derrin Schlesinger and Harrison Huffman serve as producers on the project. The film was developed by House Productions with the support of Access Entertainment and BBC Films.
