Netflix have released the official trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Louis Bayard’s novel The Pale Blue Eye.

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

West Point, 1830. A world-weary detective is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case — a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.

The film is adapted and directed by Scott Cooper and stars Christian Bale, Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Hadley Robinson, Timothy Spall and Robert Duvall.

The Pale Blue Eye is scheduled for limited cinematic release in this month, and will become available on Netflix on the 6th January 2023.
