Deadline is exclusively reporting that Ayo Edebiri is the latest name to join the cast for the upcoming Marvel Studios film Thunderbolts.

Based on a team that were first assembled and presented in Marvel Comics in 1997, the film revolves around a group of villains who are sent on missions commissioned by the government. The exact plot outline for the film is still however being kept under wraps.

The plot of the film isn’t the only thing being kept under wraps as the report states that Edebiri looks to have signed up for a secret role in the film. Ayo Edebiri’s credits include The Bear and Theater Camp.

The film is being written by Eric Pearson, with Jake Schreier set to direct. Ayo Edebiri will join a cast that includes Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Thunderbolts is scheduled for cinematic release on the 26th July 2024.
