Deadline is exclusively reporting that Lena Headey, Yara Shahidi, Isabela Merced, Lana Condor, Millicent Simmonds and Iris Apatow have signed on to star the action thriller Ballerina Overdrive.

The film will follow a troupe of ballerinas who find themselves fighting for survival as they attempt to escape from a remote inn after their bus beaks down on the way to a dance competition.

The film is written by Kate Freund, with Vicky Jewson attached to direct the film. 87North’s Kelly McCormick, David Leitch and Annie Marter will serve as producers on the project. Heidi Moneymaker and Renae Moneymaker, stunt designers, are attached to create the dance-based action choreography for the film.

The film will be launched at the upcoming European Film Market, with The Veterans handling international sales, and CAA Media Finance handling domestic.
