Variety is exclusively reporting that Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano and Giorgio Colangeli will star alongside Sydney Sweeney in the psychological horror film Immaculate.

The film focuses on Cecilia, a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is interrupted, however, as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbours dark and horrifying secrets.

The film is written by Andrew Lobel, and is being directed by Michael Mohan, who previously collaborated with Sweeney on the 2021 erotic thriller The Voyeurs. Sweeney is producing alongside Jonathan Davino for Fifty-Fifty Films, as well as David Bernad, who developed the project with Sweeney. Black Bear’s John Friedberg and Christopher Casanova are also executive producing along with Will Greenfield. Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler of Black Bear serve as producers.

Immaculate has begun principal photography in Rome. Black Bear will be fully financing the film and will handle international sales, while CCA and Paradigm will handle domestic sales.
