Sony Pictures have released the official trailer for the upcoming horror film The Pope’s Exorcist.

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican, The Pope’s Exorcist follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.

The film is based on the Fr. Gabriele Amorth books ‘An Exorcist Tells His Story’ and ‘An Exorcist: More Stories’, the film is written by Michael Petroni and Evan Spiliotopoulos, directed by Julius Avery, and stars Russell Crowe, Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe, Franco Nero, Laurel Marsden, Cornell S. John, Peter DeSouza-Feighoney and Ralph Ineson.

The Pope’s Exorcist is scheduled for cinematic release on the 14th April 2023.
