Deadline is exclusively reporting that Peacock is developing drama series Queen of Flow, an adaptation based on Colombian telenovela La Reina Del Flow, with Becky G in early negotiations with the streamer for the lead role.

Queen of Flow is a revenge story and a music drama bout a young singer/songwriter named Yeimi, who rises to fame in the music world and finds a star-crossed love with the superstar scion of a powerful family. But on her rise to the top, dark secrets are discovered about both Yeimi and the family she’s made her own that set them on a collision course towards a reckoning that could destroy them all.

Becky G (whose credits include Power Ranger and Good Mourning) is in talks to play the role of Yeimi. The premise for the series is described as a ‘Count of Monte Cristo-esque tale set against the backdrop of Latin music’.

Jorge Reyes is currently attached to write the script for the project, which is a co-production between Westbrook Studios and Universal Television. Reyes will serve as executive producer alongside Terence Carter and David Boorstein (Westbrook Studios), Tucker Tooley and Jay Weisleder (Tucker Tooley Entertainment), Eli Shibley (Major Content), Paulette Bensussen and Dorah Wagner Boaz (Wild Sheep Content), and Lisette Osorio (Caracol Television).
