Peacock have released the teaser trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of the video game franchise Twisted Metal.
The official synopsis for the series is as follows:
Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
The series was originally reported on being in development back in February 2021, with Sony Pictures Television developing the project, with Michael Jonathan Smith brought on board to write the script and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick attached to executive produce.
The series stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, Richard Cabral, Samoa Joe, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, Lou Beatty Jr., Michael Carollo, Jamie Neumann, Diany Rodriguez and Jared Bankens.
Twisted Metal will premiere on Peacock on the 27th July 2023.
