Voyagers: Andrew Garfield And Daisy Edgar-Jones To Star In Sebastian Lelio’s Next Film

Deadline is reporting that Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones have signed up to star in Sebastian Lelio’s next film Voyagers.

The film is set in 1977 as NASA prepares to launch humanity’s first interstellar probes and a team lead by astronomer Carl Sagan set out to create a message to accompany them – The Golden Record. But what starts out as a race-against-the-clock mission becomes an epic, unexpected love story between Sagan and his collaborator, filmmaker Ann Druyan.

Andrew Garfield (whose recent credits include Under The Banner of Heaven and Spider-Man: No Way Home) will be playing the role of Carl Sagan, and Daisy Edgar-Jones (whose recent credits include Under The Banner of Heaven and Where The Crawdads Sing) will be playing the role of Ann Druyan.

The report states that FilmNation Entertainment, will are developing the project, paired Ann Druyan with screenwriters Sebastian Lelio and Jessica Goldberg, who wrote the screenplay based on interviews with Druyan and many others who worked on the Golden Record project.

The film is being produced by Ben Browning for FilmNation Entertainment, Lynda Obst, and Ann Druyan. FilmNation Entertainment will launch global sales for Voyagers at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.
