Origin Of Species: Ana De Armas, Jude Law And Daniel Brühl To Star, Alicia Vikander In Talks To Join Survival Thriller From Ron Howard

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Ana de Armas, Jude Law and Daniel Brühl have signed on to star in Ron Howard’s survival thriller Origin of Species, with Alicia Vikander in talks to join.

Based on two different accounts of the same true story, the film is being described as an “a darkly comic tale of murder and survival, set around a group of electic characters who abandon civilization for the Galapagos. They are all searching for the answer to that ever-pressing question that plagues us all: what is the meaning of life.”

The project hails from Imagine Entertainment, CAA Media Finance and Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios, with the latter newly attached to finance the project and handle sales at the upcoming Cannes Film Market. Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Karen Lunder will serve as producers on the project. The script for the film is penned by Noah Pink.

Shooting on Origins of Species is currently being aimed to begin in the fourth quarter of this year in Queensland, Australia.
