Deadline is exclusively reporting that Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw and Edmund Donovan are the latest names to join the cast of Apple Original Films’ thriller Echo Valley.

The film focuses on Kate Garrett, a woman reeling from a personal tragedy who spends her days boarding and training horses on secluded and picturesque Echo Valley Farm. Late one night, her wayward daughter Claire arrives at her doorstep, frightened, trembling and covered in someone else’s blood. Echo Valley then becomes a heart-pounding thriller about just how far a mother will go to protect her child.

Kyle MacLachlan (whose recent credits include Fallout and Lucky Hank) will be playing the role of Kate’s ex-husband, Richard Garrett, a successful attorney from an old-money Main Line family. He has a new family and regards his drug-addicted daughter Claire as a self-destructive money pit. Fiona Shaw (whose recent credits include IF and True Detective: Night Country) will be playing the role of Jessie Oliver, a tough-as-nails horse trainer and Kate’s lifelong friend who is a steadfast source of emotional support. Edmund Donovan (whose credits include Civil War and Your Monster) will be playing the role of Ryan, a hapless young addict with no impulse control and no moral compass. He and Claire become involved in a network of lies that quickly ensnares Claire’s financially-strapped mother.

The film is set to be directed by Michael Pearce, with the script written by ‘Mare of Easttown’ creator Brad Ingelsby, who developed the script with Michael Pruss. Ingelsby will serve as producer alongside Pruss and Ridley Scott of Scott Free, and Kevin Walsh of The Walsh Company. Scott Greenberg will serve as executive producer alongside Rebecca Feuer and Nicole Jordan-Webber of Scott Free, and Erika Olde and Sam Roseme of Black Bicycle Entertainment. Tanja Tawadjoh will serve as co-producer.

The new additions will join a cast that includes Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney and Domhnall Gleeson.
