Deadline is reporting that Prime Video have given a series order for drama thriller series Countdown which hails from Derek Haas and has Jensen Ackles attached to star.

Countdown starts following a suspicious murder in broad daylight, which leads to LAPD officer Mark Meachum being recruited to join a secret task force of undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement to investigate. But as the truth of a more sinister plot comes into focuses, the team must overcome their conflicting personal agendas to unite and save a city of millions.

The series, which has received a thirteen-episode order, is the first series to come out of an exclusive overall deal that Haas has signed with Amazon MGM Studios following his exit from Wolf Entertainment.

Jensen Ackles, who will be playing the role of Mark Meachum, released a statement saying:

Haas had a decade-long association with Dick Wolf and his Wolf Entertainment, co-creating and/or executive producing within the One Chicago series universe (Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med), as well as FBI and FBI: International. Haas created Countdown and will be serving as executive producer and showrunner.
