House Of The Dragon: Renewed For Third Season At HBO

HBO have released two trailers for the upcoming second season of the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon.

Media outlets are reporting that HBO have renewed the Game of Thrones spinoff series, House of the Dragon, for a third season ahead of its second season premiere this weekend.

Based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series takes place two-hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, focusing on House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war to come known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons’.

Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming, as well as Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, released a statement saying:

George, Ryan, and the rest of our incredible executive producers, cast, and crew, have reached new heights with the phenomenal second season of House of the Dragon. We are in awe of the dragon-sized effort the entire team has put into the creation of a spectacular season two, with a scope and scale that is only rivalled by his heart. We could not be more thrilled to continue the story of House Targaryen and watch this team burn bright again for season three.

The second season stars Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Matthew Needham, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Rhys Ifans, Phoebe Campbell, Bethany Antonia, Jefferson Hall, Phil Saban, Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, Abubakar Salim, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Jamie Kenna, Kieran Bew, Tom Bennett, Tom Taylor and Vincent Regan.

House of the Dragon season two will premiere in the U.S on the 16th June 2024 on Max, while in the UK and Ireland it will premiere on the 17th June 2024 on Sky Atlantic.
