Power Book IV Force: Third Season To Be Final Season At Starz

Media outlets are reporting that Starz have renewed Power spinoff series, Power Book IV: Force, for a second season.

Media outlets are reporting that the upcoming third season of the crime drama series, Power Book IV: Force, will be the final season at Starz.

The official synopsis for the second season is as follows:

After cutting ties in New York, Tommy Egan’s newfound family and ruthless drug game enticed him to stay in Chicago. The explosive second season begins with Tommy on a mission to avenge the death of Lilliana, his former nemesis turned business partner.  With the Flynn organisation weakened, he’s more determined than ever to take over the Chicago drug world, but with CBI split down the middle, Tommy and Diamond first must maintain their edge over Jenard. As their factions feud in the streets, Tommy capitalises on another rivalry between the Serbs and Miguel Garcia, the most formidable drug lord in Chicago. After setting off a chain reaction of violence in pursuit of his ambition, Tommy must race to stay ahead of the men who are coming for what’s theirs, a federal task force that’s closing ranks, and a sadistic supplier with a direct line to the Cartel. All the while torn by the promise of a second chance with his blood family, Tommy must decide what he is willing to sacrifice to finally ascend the throne of a kingpin.

Gary Lennon, showrunner and executive producer of the series, released a statement saying:

It is bittersweet to write the fulfilling ending of this chapter in Tommy’s journey, a character myself and fans have grown to love over the past decade. Season three will question everything we thought we knew of Tommy’s world and I promise you it will not disappoint! Although this may be the end of the road for ‘Force’, there is much more expansive, compelling storytelling for the characters within the Power Universe.

Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy Egan, took to instagram (watch here) and definitely teased fans that this won’t be the end of Tommy (and perhaps himself as the character) saying:

When Gary Lennon and the other writers and I were mapping out our third season, we saw that we were telling a complete story, and that this was the perfect opportunity to stay true to our artistic vision and make this the final chapter in Tommy’s journey in Chicago.

But don’t worry. Tommy’s journey is far from over with. We’re just getting warmed up, and I can’t wait to show you what we have planned next. I want to give a big shout out to all the players: the cast, the crew from Power Book IV: Force’, and tell you to tune in. Because ghosts never die, and power never ends.

The second season of Power Book IV: Force starred Joseph Sikora, Isaac Keys, Lili Simmons, Shane Harper, Kris D. Lofton, Anthony Fleming III, Lucien Cambric, Tommy Flanagan, Miriam A. Hyman, Adrienne Walker, Carmela Zumbado and Manuel Eduardo Ramirez.
