Deadline is exclusively reporting that Caleb Landry Jones and Christoph Waltz are set to star in Dracula – A Love Tale, a big-budget reimagining on Bram Stoker’s iconic novel from filmmaker Luc Besson.

The report states that they hear that this take from Luc Besson on Stoker’s novel will have an origin story element to it, exploring a little more depth into the gothic romance between Prince Vladimir and his wife whose loss turns him to forsake God and become a vampire.

The report states that Caleb Landry Jones (whose recent credits include Nitram and DogMan) will be playing the role of Dracula, while Christoph Waltz’s role is being kept under wraps for now. Waltz’s recent credits include Most Dangerous Game and The Consultant.

The project is expected to have a big budget for a European film, with aim on production set to commence sometime this year. Luc Besson Productions is producing the project, with EuropaCorp co-producing. Kinology are handling sales for the film at the European Film Market (EFM).
