Deadline is exclusively reporting that Gravitas Ventures have acquired the worldwide rights for the thriller In Flight.

The film centres on Claire Reynolds, an overachiever who graduated at the top of her class and an all-star athlete. The night before she takes a dream trip to Paris, her best friend treats her to a bon voyage toast at their favourite bar. She catches the eye of Marco, a mysterious, charming and handsome stranger. That’s the last thing she remembers before waking up on a plane with no recollection of how she got there – and the games begin.

Danielle Gasher, Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and International sales at Gravitas, released a statement to Deadline saying:

We are so thrilled to be the worldwide partner for this edge-of-your-seat thriller with fantastic performances by Tiffany Smith and Cristo Fernández. It is always a pleasure working with Bo and John – as we can always trust they will deliver high-concept, commercial projects like this one. Gravitas is honoured to be the domestic distribution partner for the film, and excited to pitch In Flight to international partners in Cannes.

Director Bo Youngblood also released a statement saying:

In Flight reminds me of those late 90’s early 2000’s thrillers that are equally nerve-racking and exciting. John and Drew wrote this really fun, high-tension, contained thriller that was a really great opportunity to bring to life. Having a strong female lead that drives the story instantly attracted me to the project because it isn’t something we usually see with these types of films.

The film is written by John Ierardi and Drew McAnany, with Cristo Fernández serving as executive producer alongside Babak Movassaghi, Phil Shaltz, Michelle Graci, Natalie Marciano, Rock Jacobs, Richard Chan, Christopher Renteria, Peter Roumeliotis, Gabby Kono, Nancy Leopardi and Ryan March. Ierardi and McAnany will produce alongside Youngblood.
