Variety is exclusively reporting that Page Kennedy is the latest name to join the cast of the horror reimagining of The Breed.

The film will focus on Violet, a rebel icon and badass on a mission to search for abandoned dogs on a remote island which leads to complete adrenaline-fuelled terror.

Page Kennedy (whose credits include The Meg films and The Upshaws) will be playing the role of Farmer John, a country-rapper who provides comedic relief in the film. Kennedy will join recently cast Grace Caroline Currey.

The film is being co-produced and financed by Daro Film Distribution, who also represent the international rights for the film. The film will be directed by brothers Nathan and Griff Furst, who will also be producing through their company Curmudgeon Films.

The film will be a reimagining of the 2006 film which was produced by Wes Carven and marked the directorial of Nicholas Mastandrea, which focused on two brothers and their friends who travel to a island cabin and soon become surrounded by a group of genetically enhanced dogs bred to kill on the island.
