BAFTA FOR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO BRITISH FILM

Peter Greenway

ACADEMY FELLOWSHIP

Dame Helen Mirren

Good haul for Gravity on the night getting the most awards but don’t see that happening at the Academy Awards, especially since Dallas Buyers Club wasn’t in the running this year at the BAFTA’s (probably due to only being released on the weekend of the awards last night). Can’t say much about Will Poulter winning the Rising Star Award as I haven’t seen him in anything and just figured Dane DeHaan would be getting that one. I’m surprised yet not surprised of Jennifer Lawrence winning the Best Supporting Actress Award as she’s been hotly tipped to win but really don’t think it’s the better performance out of the ones in the same category. Nice to see Barkhad Abdi win for Best Supporting Actor, still happy enough that Bruhl was nominated and if he wasn’t for getting it, then I’m happy that Abdi got it as it was a terrific performance.
