Doom Patrol: Alan Tudyk Joins Cast As Mr. Nobody For DC Universe Series

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Alan Tudyk has signed up to play the villain known as Eric Morden aka Mr. Nobody in DC Universe’s upcoming live-action drama series Doom Patrol.

The series is being described as a reimagining of one of DC Comics most beloved group of outcast superheroes. The group includes Robotman, Negative man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, who are led by modern-day scientist Dr. Niles Caulder aka The Chief. The Doom Patrol members each suffered accidents that gave them superhuman abilities, but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatised and downtrodden, the members found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence…and to protect Earth from what they find. The Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered misfits who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

The Doom Patrol characters will be appearing first in the live-action series of Titans on the DC Universe, and the reports state that the Doom Patrol series will pick up after the events of Titans first season, with the reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: Their lives will never, ever be the same.

Alan Tudyk (whose recent credits include The Tick and Big Hero 6: The Series) will star as Eric Morden, who is exposed to unknown experiments by ex-Nazis in post-war Paraguay, emerging as a living shadow able to drain the sanity of others as the enigmatic, and totally insane, Mr. Nobody.

Jeremy Carver will be writing the series based on the DC characters originally written and drawn by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani. Carver will executive produce the series alongside Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions.

Brendan Fraser will be joining a cast that includes April BowlbyDiane GuerreroJovian WadeBrendan Fraser and Riley Shanahan.
