Deadline is reporting that Miriam A. Hyman has signed up for a multi-episode arc for the upcoming third season of the upcoming third season of Showtime drama series The Chi.

The Chi s a coming-of-age story focusing on a group of residents who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption on the city’s South Side.

Miriam A. Hyman (whose credits include The Sun Is Also A Star and The Laundromat) will be playing the role of Dre, a high school guidance counselor who will affect the life of Kevin in a major way.

The third season of The Chi will star Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, La La Anthony, Lil Rel Howery and Kandi Burruss.
