Writer-director Rian Johnson has revealed the official title for the upcoming Knives Out sequel, which is Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

The official synopsis of the first film is as follows:

When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.

The sequel sees the return of Detective Benoit Blanc, who travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colourful suspects.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery stars Daniel Craig, Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline and Jessica Henwick. The film is scheduled for release cinematically and on Netflix in late 2022.
