Variety is exclusively reporting that Natalie Martinez is the latest name to join the cast of the CBS All Access limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by a plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the one-hundred-and-eight-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors, including Stuart Redman and their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers….the Dark man aka Randall Flagg.
The report doesn’t state what role Natalie Martinez (whose credits include Kingdom and The I-Land) will be playing in the upcoming limited series.
The series is written by Josh Boone and Ben Cavell, with the duo also serving as executive producers alongside Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller, Richard P. Rubinstein. Will Weiske and Miri Yoon will serve as co-producers whilst Knate lee, Jill Killington and Owen King will serve as producers. Stephen King will also write the last chapter of the series, providing a different ending to the novel.
Natalie Martinez joins a cast that includes James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Henry Zaga, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgård, Nat Wolff, Eion Bailey, Katherine McNamara, Hamish Linklater, Heather Graham and Greg Kinnear.
